The Inflatable Boom is constructed using high frequency radio welding and is designed for short term emergency deployment for offshore coastal areas such as ports harbours and docks to contain oil and protect the waters from contamination.
Using inflatable buoyancy chambers the Inflatable Boom is flexible enough to allow it to follow the wave characteristics of the water leading to better containment of oil than other types of booms.
It is manufactured from PVC as standard but is also available in PU and PUA and features an in-built ballast system.
It can be securely fastened using bank end fittings or a rope and once used can be cleaned simply and compactly stored.
