The HGV Flow Plates offer an excellent means of slowing down car or HGV traffic, suitable for the likes of commercial and business premises that would have frequent traffic on a regular basis. The flow plates can be easily installed directly into concrete or tarmac and can help to slow down traffic dramatically.
The flow plates have been designed with a high-quality 10mm thick plate, providing an excellent long-lasting flow plate option. Once installed the upright flap can be left up to help slow down traffic or can be bolted down to allow traffic from both sides. The flow plates utilise a durable chequer plate on the surface for the utmost grip and have a high tensile spring to keep the flap in place at all times.
When cars or HGVs move over these flow plates the main flap will depress to the ground to allow them safe passage over them. The high tensile spring is protected at all times by the main plate and will help to protect it and maintain a long service life while in use.
While these HGV flow plates are not designed to damage cars that may traverse over them on the wrong side we would strongly recommend that correct signage be installed where these flow plates are in use to alert nearby drivers before they drive over them.
It is important that vehicles traversing over these flow plates only do so straight on to avoid damage to the flow plates over time. When installing the plates there are 2 main options that you can use - you can install them all in a straight line beside each other or you can stagger them with some plates in the front and some plates in the rear.
For more information on the installation of the HGV flow plates or setup methods please refer to our downloadable guidelines on this page.
